The Honorable K P Chan graciously took time from his busy schedule on 1 November 2024 to share valuable insights on the development and strategy of the insurance industry with the mentees. He also provided them with a tour of the LegCo Complex. This experience of exploring the complex and engaging with the Honorable Chan proved to be both enriching and captivating for everyone involved.

The ETDP has been designed to identify and nurture exceptional talent, providing them with the guidance and resources they need to reach their full potential. Following the success of the last 3 cohorts, this year, with the tireless support of 11 mentors, 16 pairs of mentor-mentee have been matched. A sincere vote of thanks to the mentors for generously devoting their time and efforts in grooming the next generation of insurance professionals

The Fourth Cohort of ETD Programme has been kicked-off in May 2024. Briefing sessions and lunch gathering was held on 4 July 2024.

In the briefing session, HKFI Chief Executive Ms Selina Lau shared with the young executives on the role of HKFI and aspired the young executives to broaden their horizon through the Programme. Another briefing session on InsurTech was addressed by Mr Alfred Cheung, Chairman of InsurTech Task Force, LIC, HKFI was held on the same day.

The Closing Ceremony of the third cohort was held on the same day after the briefing sessions to celebrate the successful completion of the mentees of the third cohort.  It was followed by a lunch gathering to connect all mentees and mentors of both the third and fourth cohort of the ETD Programme.

An interactive briefing session and gathering was held on 23 February 2024 to foster connections between mentors, mentees, and the HKFI Chairman, Ms. Orchis Li. The event was characterised by an uplifting atmosphere that facilitated dynamic discussions, fruitful exchanges of knowledge, and the sharing of valuable experiences between mentors and mentees.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Orchis Li and all mentors for graciously imparting their invaluable insights and experiences with the mentees. The Elite Talent Development Programme (ETDP) has reached another milestone.

On 28 June 2023, we celebrated the completion of the second cohort of the programme and welcomed the mentees of the third cohort at a vibrant gathering. The ETDP has been designed to identify and nurture exceptional talent, providing them with the guidance and resources they need to reach their full potential. This year, 25 mentees from 18 Member Companies were selected to be paired up with 12 exceptional veteran mentors. We are exceedingly pleased to see these young executives with diverse background and expertise came together and aspired to broaden their horizons through learning from the forerunners. Congratulations to them for being selected to this prestigious programme and a sincere vote of thanks to the mentors for generously devoting their time and efforts in grooming the next generation of insurance professionals.

Apart from individual coaching by mentors, a briefing session and mentor-mentee gathering were held to further assist the mentees in widening horizon for personal and career development.

The HKFI Elite Talent Development (ETD) Pilot Programme has launched in April this year, and it’s exciting that the first gathering was successfully held on 19 November 2021 for the mentees and mentors to meet up. At the event, HKFI Immediate Past Chairman Mr Eric Hui shared with the mentees on career prospects in the insurance industry, followed by the group discussion session for all mentors and mentees to exchange ideas and experience.
