"It's been a privilege to have you both, Linus & Kan, as mentees in this 12-month programme. Your open minds, eagerness to learn, and unwavering commitment to growth have been truly inspiring. We've shared so much knowledge, experiences, and laughter together, and your non-stop participation has enriched the journey for everyone. You've challenged each other, supported each other, and grown together in remarkable ways. Thank you for making this programme such a success. We're excited to see the incredible things you'll achieve in the future!"

"Insurance industry certainly needs new bloods to carry the torch and this only could be succeeded with the effort and commitment of every mentee taking part in this programme provided by HKFI. The prosperous future is your hand. Please do ultilize this opportunity to stay connected and work towards your goals together."

Philip CHAN

"It was great to get connected with two arising talents through the HKFI ETDP! Mentorship to me is always a two-way street and I actually pick up some latest developments and emerging challenges in our industry from them. I too appreciate their sharing of fresh and innovative perspectives of looking at some industry issues!"

Alex W Y CHU

"HKFI has established an outstanding platform where young mentees can connect with mentors possessing valuable industry and life experience. Mentees should cherish these mentorship connections and actively nurture the relationships."

Teresa O W MA

Messages from Mentors (2022-2023)

"Very nice to connect with all the upcoming youngsters, love their enthusiasm, proactiveness, and energy. Communication is never in one way, both sides are being inspired and strengthening. Thanks to HKFI for organising this platform. A quote from movie《梅艷芳》:「前輩係要提攜後輩」"

Elaine S H CHAN

"I would to like to express my appreciation to HKFI for inviting me to participate in the Elite Talent Development Programme in which I came to know you. Over the last few months, we have met in several gatherings (I am sure we should have met more often if not for the pandemic situation last year). In every gathering, we have chatted about things both at work or outside. It allowed me to keep in touch with the Industry I worked and love in the past 30 years. More importantly, we have built friendship which I trust will last for the many years to come! Now that the programme is coming to an end, but I strongly believe that our friendship will continue and we will have more gatherings in the coming future."

LEE Pak-kee

"Apart from the mentorship development, HKFI has created an excellent platform for mentees to network with peers and industry leaders and hence mentees can obtain a wider scope of vision about the insurance industry. Getting along with my mentees Johnny and Darren, we built rapport and trust with each other and I am confident this element will not diminish even the mentorship programme ends after May this year."

Teresa MA

"Technical knowledge can be acquired by sitting next to a computer. What marks out the real leaders in our industry is the ability to communicate – to inspire, to explain, to influence and to reassure. The moment we stop learning and being ready for change, we lose the right to be a leader in our industry."

Philip SMITH

"The Hong Kong insurance industry is facing an unprecedented challenge of talent shortage in the recent years due to aging population and immigration of young executives. This challenge, however, may turn into opportunities for young insurance practitioners who may get themselves equipped with new skill and vision to embrace the rapid changes of the market environment. The mentor programme is an excellent platform for the mentees to share the experience of insurance veterans, which can be viewed as a guide in their future path of insurance career."

Messages from Mentors (2021-2022)

"Mentees, - Be open-minded to embracing changes whenever opportunity comes; - Actively participate in the industry activities and task force to broaden the view and exposure; - Be inclusive and positive towards any adverse situation; - In anticipation of the transformation of the world after COVID-19, we need to proactively address the changes to make a difference."

Agnes H K CHOI

"I am very pleased to connect with two rising talents through the HKFI ETDP. I hope they find me a good sounding board for their thoughts and I actually learn from them on the latest developments and emerging challenges in our industry. Only wish that we could have more physical contact in times of pandemic."

Alex W Y CHU

"A mentor's job is to share her experience, skill and knowledge to the mentees. However, in the course of sharing, I also learned from Katie and Stephen. They brought me to see things in a new dimension . Our past experience coupled with their new innovative ideas will definitely drive our industry into a new era."

Teresa O W MA

"It is a good platform to share technical know-how for local market and some historical background to them. Looking forward to seeing they will bring new initiative with old value vision to our industry."
